The United States banning China Telecom from operating in the country on national security grounds is “malicious suppression of a Chinese company”, Beijing said Thursday, warning it would damage relations.
Commerce ministry spokeswoman Shu Yuting told a press briefing that China’s economic and trade team had “lodged solemn representations” with the US, and that Beijing had expressed serious concern over the incident.
